Vietnam set off a spectacle of lights, dance and music at opening ceremony of the Southeast Asian Games on May 12, brushing aside gloomy weather to launch a party-like atmosphere eclipsing a six-month COVID19 delay of the event.

The Philippines along with 10 other nations in the region compete in the multi-sport event that will run until May 23.
