“Having served in the Marines during two deployments to Iraq, he is a strong conservative leader who will champion American values here at home.”
GREEN BAY, WI – Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today endorsed Congressman Mike Gallagher in his campaign for reelection.
Speaking about his endorsement, Secretary Mike Pompeo said, “Today I am proud to endorse Mike Gallagher for reelection. He is a trusted and leading voice on the need to confront the challenge posed by the Chinese Communist Party, as evidenced by his service on the House Armed Services Committee and the China Task Force. Having served in the Marines during two deployments to Iraq, he is a strong conservative leader who will champion American values here at home. I hope conservatives in Wisconsin’s 8th District will join me in supporting him!”
Upon receiving the endorsement, Congressman Gallagher said, “Secretary Mike Pompeo embodied peace through strength while serving as CIA Director and Secretary of State, where he worked tirelessly to defend America from the threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party and the Iranian regime. After the multiple foreign policy failures and weakness on display from the Biden Administration, we need to restore peace through strength. Secretary Pompeo’s efforts to elect conservatives who will fight for freedom at home and abroad could not be more important. I am proud to have his endorsement.”
Congressman Gallagher serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and is regarded as a leading voice on national security issues. He also is a member of the China Task Force and co-chaired the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, which was tasked with developing a strategy to improve U.S. cyber defenses.
In 2020, Gallagher defeated Democratic Assemblywoman Amanda Stuck by 28%. He received nearly 270,000 votes — the most in the history of the 8th Congressional District — and secured a third term with a victory of 64%-36%. The resounding victory was his third consecutive win of over 20%. In 2016, Gallagher won by 26% over Tom Nelson. In 2018, he won re-election by 27% in 2018 over Democrat attorney Beau Liegeois. Gallagher and his wife Anne reside in Green Bay, Wisconsin with their daughter Grace.
