Kaitlin Armstrong, the yoga teacher and real estate agent accused of killing of Bay Area elite cyclist Mo Wilson in a jealous rage, is now believed to have traveled to New York City, authorities say.
A U.S. Marshals press release says Armstrong likely flew from Austin to Houston and then on to New York’s LaGuardia Airport on May 14, three days after Wilson’s death.
Wilson, a champion mountain biker and rising star in the scene, was staying with a friend in Austin to prepare for an upcoming race. On the night of May 11, she allegedly went swimming with former romantic partner and fellow racing competitor, Colin Strickland. Armstrong, Strickland’s reportedly on-and-off girlfriend, is suspected of shooting and killing her minutes after Wilson returned to the apartment on the back of Strickland’s motorcycle. Authorities are painting the murder as motivated by jealousy.

The complex details of the alleged love triangle-turned-homicide, involving recently purchased guns, text messages, lies and an anonymous tipster, were revealed in a seven-page arrest warrant obtained last week.
The families of both the victim and fugitive have spoken out since news of the alleged love triangle and subsequent manhunt broke. Wilson’s parents stated that their daughter was not in a romantic relationship at the time of her death; Armstrong’s father said that his daughter was not capable of murder.
