SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A jury has convicted a former tribal police officer of sexual abuse.

Court documents say that last year a young girl reported that 54-year-old Oscar Hudspeth Sr. sexually abused her while he was married to her mother.

The abuse happened at their home in Oglala while the girl’s mother was at work.

Hudspeth was working as a law enforcement officer for the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety at the time. He faces up to life in federal prison.

A sentencing date has not been set.
