SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Andy’s Affiliated Foods closed its doors for the final time on April 14, 2022. Now, more than two years after the neighborhood grocer shut down – a happening that community advocates said would contribute to food insecurity in the area — it looks as though the building might once again reopen as a grocery store.

Renovations to the exterior of the building are underway, and thought the Andy’s sign still stands as of October 3, 2024, the lot is now owned by Worthington business man Efrain Vega.

Vega purchased the property from the previous owner in June of 2022 for $685k, according to city records, which now also list the property as El Mexicano Grocery Store.

It is unclear at this time when the potential store may open. KELOLAND News reached out to Vega for comment on the purchase, but has not received a response at the time of publishing.
