SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s officially the Christmas season at Falls Park.
The annual Winter Wonderland tradition started with the lighting at 5 p.m. Friday and a fireworks display above the park at 6 p.m.
The lights and holiday music will be on display daily from 5 p.m. to midnight until Jan. 5, 2025.
Winter Wonderland at Falls Park includes more than 260 decorated trees, 94 light poles and 29 miles of string lights. There’s also garland, wreaths and light displays with festive music through a radio station.
“Favorite time of the year. We get the whole park lit up for people to enjoy and be festive and connect with one another, take a stroll through the park,” Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation Assistant Director Brett Kollars said.
Kollars told KELOLAND News a crew of eight put in more than 1,500 hours to set up the park.
