SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Nearly $7 million has been approved for FEMA disaster money in four South Dakota counties, the agency said in a news release Monday. The FEMA aid is from flooding and storm damage from June.

A total of 1,162 individual households have registered for $6.92 million. FEMA has registered 297 households in Union County for about $3.6 million.

The most registered households are the 404 in Lincoln County, with nearly $1.4 million approved.

FEMA approved about $1.5 million for 360 households in Davison County and about $370,000 for 101 households in Turner County.

The amount of approved money has increased by more than $1 million since early September. As of Sept. 5, FEMA had approved more than $5.5million to 926 applicants.
