SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The location of the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) championship game is moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2026 and 2027.
The game will be played at FirstBank Stadium on the campus of Vanderbilt.
Both South Dakota and South Dakota State play college football in the FCS and will host quarterfinal games of the FCS playoffs on Saturday. If either team were to reach this year’s championship, the game would be played in Frisco, Texas.
The 2025 FCS championship game will be played at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6. KELOLAND Media Group is taking reservations for a fan bus for both Coyote and Jackrabbit fans if either team were to reach the championship game.
Frisco has been the host site since 2010, but a multiyear renovation project at Toyota Stadium put the 2026 and 2027 championship games open to bid.
“The city of Frisco and Toyota Stadium are incredible partners and have helped grow our championship to an exceptional level the past 15 years,” Ty Halpin, NCAA director of championships, said in a news release.
