LAWRENCE COUNTY, S.D. (KELO) — The name has been released of a motorcyclist killed in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday night, 13 miles southwest of Cheyenne Crossing.
53-year-old Kimberly L. Welch, of Rapid City, was driving her Harley Davidson northbound on US 85 near mile marker three, according to the S.D. Department of Public Safety.
Welch missed a curve, left the roadway, lost control and overturned in the east ditch. Welch died from injuries sustained in the crash. She was not wearing a helmet.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
