UPDATE 2:17 p.m.: IMPD has confirmed that a passenger died in the crash, which involved two vehicles. Both drivers, as well as a child, were taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
Per IMPD, preliminary information shows one vehicle was heading northbound and attempted to go west, when it was struck by a southbound vehicle.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a crash on the northwest side led to road closures Sunday afternoon.
According to IMPD, officers were called around 12:35 p.m. to W 51st St. and Michigan Road. Upon arrival, police discovered a crashed vehicle, leading IMPD to close all intersections in the area.
IMPD has not confirmed whether anyone was injured in the crash. FOX59/CBS4 have reached out to officers for more information.
