Fair Courts America is up with a new TV spot that seeks to tie a federal court case over deportation to Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race.
The narrator in the ad says a “criminal illegal gang member abused a child here in Wisconsin,” adding that President Donald Trump is “fighting back, but a liberal judge ordered deportation flights to be turned around.”
The ad refers to a man who was arrested last fall for an alleged assault in Prairie du Chien. He’s been in local custody as he faces charges in Crawford County and Dane County, where he’s set to go to trial next month on two felonies and two misdemeanors.
The narrator says we “don’t need another liberal judge” as an image of Susan Crawford is shown. “We need Brad Schimel, a judge and prosecutor backed by law enforcement.” The narrator adds Schimel “protected victims and safeguarded kids” while calling him “tough on crime, unwavering in justice” and urging a vote for him April 1.
