SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Cold weather is already impacting some schools in KELOLAND.
More than a dozen schools are listed with delayed starts or closed on the KELOLAND Closeline.
The Tea Area School District has called a virtual learning day for Tuesday and Windom, Minnesota, is also listed as a E-Learning Day.
The Sioux Falls School District already had a scheduled day off for Tuesday that was not weather related.
Sioux Falls is in a cold weather advisory while many counties north of Minnehaha County are in an extreme cold warning. Wind Chill temperatures can be in the -30 degrees and -40 degrees.
According to the KELOLAND Storm Center Update, bitter cold will stick around through at least Wednesday across KELOLAND, with many locations struggling to get above zero by the Wednesday outlook.
