The College of Arts & Sciences is proud to announce the naming of five endowed professors and chairs. This group of honorees represent excellence in academic fields spanning the humanities, social sciences and computational sciences.

Endowed professorships are donor-funded faculty positions that support the university’s recruitment and retention of the best and most well-respected faculty. These highly coveted appointments come with prestige and resources to support the professor which can include financial support for salary, research, travel or other scholarly work.

“Growing endowed professorships is a top priority for the college as we strive for the highest levels of teaching and research success,” said Sara Rosen, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. “I am thrilled to highlight the work of some of our most accomplished faculty members through these prestigious positions.”

Three of these positions are new and were made possible by recent, significant gifts to the College of Arts & Sciences. We invite you to learn more about our newest endowed professors and the donors who made it possible to advance their scholarly work.
