Happy last day in 2024 and what a way to end the year with yucky weather outside. We kicked things off this morning with temps hitting 50° but shortly after temps started falling into the 40’s. Rain showers have continued to stick around throughout the day and will continue through the evening hours. Temps are expected to fall into the mid-30s right as we ring in the new year and a few flurries will be possible.

2025 will kick off much colder than how we finished 2024. Temps out the door will be sitting in the upper 20’s with cloudy skies. Winds will be breezy throughout the day making wind chills in the teens and 20’s.

Cold temps will continue to stick around throughout the week, with the next chance of snow arriving on Friday. The fast-moving clipper system will sweep across the midwest bringing widespread snowshoers late Thursday night into Friday morning. Accumulations will be light but an inch of snow can’t be ruled out.

We are monitoring a possible impactful system that could arrive at the end of the weekend. We will keep an eye on it, but we are still too far out to discuss specifics. We are confident that a blast of arctic air will slam the Midwest, dropping our temperatures well below average with feel-like temperatures around 0°, if not below by next week.
