Denver police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a triple homicide last month in Green Valley Ranch that left a 4-year-old boy dead, the department announced Monday.

Elijah Jaquez Hood was arrested on suspicion of three counts of first-degree murder, division chief Joe Montoya said in a news conference. He was taken into custody without incident at an apartment near East Hampden Ave. and South Tamarac Drive, Montoya said.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. on April 26 in the 5900 block of North Dunkirk Street and left 23-year-old Donne Allen Jr., 65-year-old Denise Hood and 4-year-old Me’Khi Parham Allen dead, authorities said.

Police are still working to determine a motive, Montoya said, but Hood had connections with at least two of the victims. Denise Hood is Elijah Hood’s aunt, the division chief said, while Allen and Elijah Hood “palled around” and had extensive communication.

The two “maybe had a falling out,” Montoya said, though he declined to give further details.
