It was a mild morning as lows fell to the lower to mid-50s in outlying counties. Indianapolis dropped to 62°. Skies are mostly clear this morning and we will see plenty of sunshine today with high pressure in control of today’s weather conditions. Highs will rise into the mid-80s this afternoon. The UV index is high and at an 8 for today, which means sunburn may happen within 25 to 30 without sunscreen.

Today is the day to get any yardwork done because shower chances return on Sunday. The rainfall will arrive in our western counties early Sunday morning with coverage increasing by midday/afternoon for the rest of the area. Embedded thunderstorms and downpours are possible on Sunday. Up to 0.50” is possible for most areas through Monday morning. However, isolated higher totals cannot be ruled out.

Be prepared for multiple rain chances this week. The showers and storms will become widely scattered Tuesday through Thursday, meaning there should be more dry hours in the mix midweek. Temperatures will gradually rise into the upper 80s and lower 90s by Wednesday. Muggy conditions are also expected to return next week.
