SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A downtown Brookings business in the 300 block of Main Street caught fire Monday morning, with the call coming in at around 5:10 a.m., according to Brookings Police.
According to the Brookings Police Chief, no lives were lost in the fire, and there were no serious injuries.
KELOLAND’s Karlee Phillips arrived on-scene before 11:00 a.m. in Brookings to find the store collapsed into itself as responding agencies stood watch, the building still smoking.
KELOLAND’s Summer Raderschadt spoke with the BPD, who confirmed that the fire appeared to have started at Brost’s Fashions.
The Red Cross of South Dakota has also posted about the fire, calling it a “multi-family fire.”
Police say the multiple agencies are responding, and that as of 7:45 a.m., the fire is still burning.
