SIOUX CITY, IOWA (KELO) — The Dordt women punched their ticket to the national semifinals of the NAIA tournament with an 82-61 win over Marian Saturday in Sioux City.
The top-ranked Defenders scored the first 11 points of the game in a wire-to-wire victory and shot 50% in each of the first three quarters. So, they extend their season at least another 48 hours to the semis on Monday.
“Before the game, we said we want to have more sleepovers with each other in the hotel,” Dordt forward Janie Van Donge said. “We love spending time with each other and just being here with the team is just so awesome. every day we get here is a gift, and I’m so blessed to be here.”
“It feels amazing,” Dordt guard Olivia Harazin said. “I mean, to be, able to have another couple of days with this team and to get to compete again on Monday, so we’re excited.”
Dordt plays Bethel Monday night at 6 p.m. in Sioux City.
