WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. — A Wayne County woman has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of bestiality.
An affidavit for probable cause filed Friday indicates 38-year-old Brittaney Lynn Sawyer uploaded numerous images and videos depicting child pornography to her cell phone service provider’s servers. Police first became aware of Sawyer’s alleged activity in December, when her cell phone service provider submitted a tip about her recent uploads to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
During their investigation of Sawyer, police obtained the cell phone number and IP address attached to her alleged uploads. After serving legal process with Sawyer’s cell service provider, police accessed texts Sawyer sent and learned that her primary residence is located in Richmond.
The texts helped police confirm that the phone used to upload the child pornography belonged to Sawyer. A search warrant was granted for Sawyer’s home, phone and person on March 7.
Police located Sawyer in a vehicle in Wayne County on March 10. Officers subsequently recovered her phone and searched her residence. Police seized multiple electronic devices during their search of Sawyer’s home.
Investigators also conducted an interview with Sawyer. During the interview, Sawyer confirmed the phone police seized belonged to her. She also indicated that she has lived in the residence police searched for several years.
According to court documents, Sawyer admitted to producing a pornographic video that featured herself and a dog. Police reported that Sawyer posted a video depicting sex acts between humans and dogs on social media on March 5.
During her interview with police, Sawyer also said she received child pornography from her boyfriend via text. Sawyer told police her boyfriend was the person who requested she record a pornographic video with a dog.
Law enforcement identified Sawyer’s boyfriend as Raven Faunce. Police reported that Faunce is a registered sex offender. Court records indicate Faunce was in prison until November 2024, serving a sentence for “being convicted of crimes against children that required sex offender registration.”
All five of the possession of child pornography charges Sawyer faces are Level 5 Felonies. The bestiality charge brought against Sawyer is a Level 6 Felony.
Sawyer appeared in court on Friday. No additional information on her case had been posted in Indiana’s public court reporting system as of Saturday evening.
