MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie man who was on house arrest in relation to a drug investigation was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly dealing cocaine in Delaware County.
According to court documents filed by the Muncie Police Department in Delaware County on Thursday, 54-year-old Ronregis Douglass was preliminarily charged with:
- One count of dealing cocaine more than 10 grams, a Level 2 felony
- One count of maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony.
On Wednesday, investigators with the Muncie Delaware County Drug Task Force, along with the Muncie SWAT team, conducted a search of a home in the 1600 block of S Shipley Street. This comes after officials conducted surveillance on the home.
The documents said that Douglass was reportedly seen leaving the home, even though he was on house arrest. After a traffic stop, Douglass was taken into custody.
During the search of the home, a clear bag that contained several smaller bags were allegedly found. The bags reportedly contained around 98 grams of white powder and an “off-white rock-like substance” that police say tested positive for cocaine.
When speaking to deputies, the court documents said that Douglass reportedly acknowledged that the drugs were his, stressing that he was in debt and “needed to pay off his debt.”
Douglass was previously charged in January 2024 with multiple drug dealing-related charges. His jury trial in that case is scheduled for May 2025.
