DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. — A Delaware County man was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly molested an 8-year-old child more than 100 times.
According to court documents, filed on Friday in Delaware County, 44-year-old Amyl Shaner was charged with three counts of child molestation, each a Level 1 felony; one count of child molest fondling, a Level 4 felony; and one count of dissemination harmful to a minor, a Level 6 felony.
On Thursday, officers with the Muncie Police Department interviewed an 8-year-old. During the interview, the child reportedly told officers about a number of instances of sexual assault and molestation between Shaner and the child.
The documents specified that one instance of assault between Shaner and the child occurred more than 100 times.
Shaner was located and taken into custody on Wednesday, according to the court documents. During an interview, Shaner denied the allegations and claimed the child would come to where Shaner was and perform sexual acts. Later during the interview, Shaner reportedly admitted to one occurrence of assault.
According to the court documents, a $169,000 cash-only bond has been set for Shaner.
