MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — A Bloomington man allegedly set fire early Thursday morning to an emergency Narcan box located at the Monroe County Stride Center.

Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded around 4:30 a.m. to the center, located in the 300 block of N. Morton Street, for a man reportedly setting a fire, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived, they learned that a man – later identified as 42-year-old Ean Busby – reportedly set fire to an emergency Narcan box located outside of the entrance to the center. The fire was already put out when deputies arrived and the box reportedly had “minor damage.”

The release said Stride Center employees told deputies Busby reportedly arrived at the center a short time before the fire started. Busby reportedly wanted to stay at the center but was not allowed in.

In response to this, deputies claim Busby placed a “slow” sign that was in the alleyway in front of the center door and set the Narcan box on fire.

After officials learned Busby’s identity, deputies searched the area and located him. The release said Busby was booked into the Monroe County Correctional Center on a preliminary charge of arson, a Level 4 felony.
