It FINALLY sounds like the cable and satellite companies are REELING from people “cutting the cord” for streaming-only options . . . and yet, they’re still as overpriced as ever.
DirecTV just announced yesterday that it’s buying its rival Dish Network, after DECADES of on-and-off talks about the two services merging.
And get this: The price DirecTV is paying for Dish is . . . $1.00.
But it’s just $1.00 because they’re agreeing to assume Dish’s BILLIONS of dollars in debt.
The deal hasn’t officially closed yet. There are still a few hurdles . . . including Dish bondholders accepting a reduced debt deal.
Customers probably won’t experience any big differences . . . at least at first. DirecTV says they don’t have any plans to make changes to the existing Dish brands, for better or for worse.
