Clark County officials removed about 100,000 people from its voter rolls Wednesday, which was the final day the rolls could be adjusted before Election Day.
The removals were part of the county’s routine voter roll maintenance that occurs between elections, a spokesperson said.
The Nevada Republican Party on Wednesday took credit for the removal.
Federal and state law prohibits the cancellation of a voter’s registration until the voter has failed to respond to a notice and has not voted in the two general elections after the notice was delivered.
Voters whose registration has been canceled can still be eligible to vote and can reregister online at the secretary of state’s website. If the voter does not have a valid Nevada ID, they must register in-person at their county election office or by mailing a paper application.
