SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A deer ran through a local bank parking lot and into a front window of Miller Rexall Drug Sunday morning, said owner and pharmacist Travis Anderberg.
The deer entered the closed drug store at about 9:55 a.m. and spent about 10 minutes inside, Anderberg said. The damage was mostly contained to two front windows, he said.
The deer’s exit was caught on video and posted on the drug store’s Facebook page. Anderberg said at about 11 a.m. that the video had drawn about 72,000 views.
“There’s was a lot of clanking and it sounded like the whole inside was getting demolished. Luckily, it was it (only) picture frames,” Anderberg said of the incident.
Anderberg was two blocks away from the drug store when he got an alert from his security company and several contacts from local residents who saw the incident and damage. He ran to the drug store in time to find the deer inside. He and two other individuals tried to shoo the deer out the back door but the deer pushed through another front window on its way out.
He saw only a few drops of blood and it appeared the deer was not injured. The blood may have come from when the deer’s nose hit the window pane.
Anderberg said with the help of several individuals he was able to clean up the mess before 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The drug store was open Monday.
