PIERRE – Dan Maciejczak, who has spent the last 12 seasons as football head coach at Douglas High School in Box Elder, has resigned to join the Pierre Governors’ staff of Head Coach Steve Steele.

Maciejczak had one winning season at Douglas.  He is an alum of Douglas and Chadron State College, where he is in that school’s athletic hall of fame.  He was a three-time All-American center for the Eagles in the 1990s.

Jason Maciejczak, Dan’s son, is regarded as one of the top linemen in South Dakota high school football and will play for the Governors in his senior season.  He also is an excellent thrower in track & field.

Dan’s wife, Rebecca, accepted a job as a kindergarten teacher in the Pierre School District, precipitating the upcoming move for the family.
