At airports across the nation, the busy holiday travel season is cleared for takeoff.Luis Rivera flew into Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport from Austin to see family for Thanksgiving. “The line for security was actually stretching outside of the airport at Austin, so we had to go inside and check our bags and then wait outside for security,” Rivera said. Travelers arriving from destinations across the country say they have had long days in the air and delays on the ground.Kristin Sweeney said TSA delays almost made her miss her flight.According to the TSA Website, Wednesday will be the busiest day for America’s Air Travel system, with over 2 million estimated passengers.“We kind of got a late start to the airport so we were nervous getting through security because the line was super long and kind of unorganized so we were getting nervous,” Sweeney said. In the wake of a passenger boarding a Frontier Airlines flight with box cutters, travelers at CVG say they are extra vigilant following TSA regulations for weapons and prohibited carry-on items. “We go through and entire checklist with all of our different guns.. we make sure that everything is taken apart and we have followed the guidelines.. making sure the ammo is shipped at a different time, to ensure everyone’s safety on the airline.” one traveler said.With innovation like CLEAR which screens passengers using biometrics and eye scans, and the active TSA Pre-Check program, CVG has made improvements to to streamline the passenger screening experience.”Jacob Zoch says he has noticed the difference the innovations have made for travel.“TSA Pre-check and clear, with real ID. Make sure you have your ID up to date, and check-in on-line for parking. That’s what I did, and I was on my way,” Zoch said.With snow weather delays along the great lakes, and the always unexpected travel turbulence, Jessica Strafford says passengers still need to pack their patience.“Just try to be nice to everyone, because we are all here to see our families,” Strafford said.
