The Crawford campaign will report raising $17 million in recent reporting period thanks to surge in grassroots support
MADISON, Wis. – Today, with exactly 8 days left until Election Day and as Elon Musk continues his corrupt onslaught to try to secure a favorable ruling in his company’s lawsuit, Judge Susan Crawford’s campaign for the Wisconsin Supreme Court announced raising more than $24 million total since entering the race in June 2024. In the latest finance report, which will be submitted later today, Judge Crawford’s campaign will report raising more than $17 million in the reporting period spanning February 4 thru March 17, 2025. These historic sums are the most of any Wisconsin Supreme Court campaign in history, the most of any judicial campaign in American history, and outpace fundraising numbers seen by campaigns for offices like senator and governor across the country.
“Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, is trying to buy influence over the Wisconsin judiciary by getting Brad Schimel elected to the Supreme Court. It’s as corrupt as it is extreme, and Musk wants Schimel to do his bidding,” said Judge Susan Crawford. “I’m grateful for the historic outpouring of grassroots support across Wisconsin from folks who don’t want Elon Musk controlling our Supreme Court. The people of Wisconsin want a fair and common sense Justice who will protect our fundamental rights and freedoms. I’m humbly asking Wisconsinites for their vote on April 1 as we fight back against Musk and Schimel’s corruption and extremism.”
Judge Crawford’s campaign is powered by grassroots supporters from all 72 counties in Wisconsin. In the week that Elon Musk first started spending in this race, the Crawford campaign received more than 36,000 individual grassroots contributions—which is more contributions in one week than the campaign had received over its entirety before that. Over the entire reporting period, the Crawford campaign has received nearly 150,000 individual contributions from more than 113,000 donors—numbers likely unprecedented in any campaign in Wisconsin history.
With 8 days remaining before Election Day, Judge Crawford is currently on her Common Sense Justice Tour, with dozens of stops scheduled over 10 days. In all, Judge Crawford will travel more than 2,400 miles to meet with voters in every corner of the state.
Judge Crawford has served as a Circuit Court judge since 2018. Prior to taking the bench, she began her career as a prosecutor with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, holding criminals accountable and protecting community safety, and represented Wisconsinites to protect their constitutional and civil rights as a private-practice attorney.
