JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — A crash forced officials to temporarily close a portion of Interstate 65 northbound in Johnson County Friday night.

A traffic alert sent by the Indiana Department of Transportation indicates I-65 northbound was shut down at mile marker 90 sometime before 10:38 p.m. INDOT’s notification indicates at least one person was injured in the crash.

Police diverted traffic onto State Road 44 via Exit 90 while they cleaned up and investigated the crash.

Crews managed to open the center lane of I-65 northbound around 11:08 p.m. INDOT has yet to report when the roadway is expected to fully reopen.

As of this article’s publication, it is unknown exactly what caused the crash on I-65 Friday night.
