A recent New York Times front page included an article on “shrinkflation,” the decrease in product size and increase in price that is hurting all Nevadans and Americans.

Chips that used to be 16-ounce packages are now 12; a box of tissues that used to have 240 became 160; 144 ounces of seltzer became 96 — all with prices rising as examples.

Seniors and the middle class are choosing between brands they love but can’t afford vs. cheaper, lower-quality brands that boost corporate profits.

This disgusting corporate move by so many companies to increase profits is so dishonest and hurtful to anyone not wealthy and watching spending.

Do any elected officials actually care about seniors or the middle class, other than during an election year?
