SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Officials said a Sunday bale and pasture fire near Huron could have been much worse as three fire departments and other volunteers helped to contain it.
The fire started as a bale fire and moved to a pasture, the Huron Fire Department said on Facebook. The fire was contained to three pasture acres. Huron and the fire departments from Cavour and Alpena responded to the fire. Farmers and neighbors also brought discs and loaders to help fight the fire.
The weather was 96 degrees F with 15 to 20 mph winds.
