Coney Island is calling all water-fans to help them set a world record this weekend!Starting Friday, June 17 at Noon, the water park will attempt to set a world record for most people down a water slide in 24 hours. The contest will take place on their green Twister body slides. (The video above is from an earlier report.)As part of the event, all water park attractions will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.A bonus midnight swim will take place from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday featuring a DJ and games. Tickets will cost $10 at the door.Most attractions will close after midnight, except for the Twister water slides, which will remain open for the world record attempt. Park officials said there will also be a poolside video game party from Midnight- 4 a.m. No admission or parking will be charged to nighttime sliders who come between midnight-8 a.m.The official record count will end Saturday at Noon. Those who participate will get a free ticket to return to the park on any public operating day during the 2022 season.Participants will also get a souvenir world record participant wristband.
