I have seen Mr Coconut in Changi airport earlier, when Jewel opened. I have not tasted though Vj tried their Bubble Dragon fruit for the first time and loved it. But my choice will be it’s neighbor Acai bowl shop, my favorite. After that, I never thought about it but saw one more branch opened near Vj’s office. it’s always seen with long que numbers.
Vj used to ask whenever we go that side, but I never thought to give it a try. Once he told their Coconut shake 🍹 is really good after trying it and kept asking me to try. He also got me one while coming back from office recently. Obviously, I fell in love with it the very first time. Aj tasted it, he loved it as well. But, even for a sweet tooth like me it was too sweet for 100% sugar. So I love it with 70% better. I had few couple of times within this one month.
I decided to recreate it at home and was looking for a hint in Youtube that’s when I found this. So, gave it a try and it was really very close to what I had.
Perfect for this summer when you want a filling, delicious shake at home. Treat your kids this way with the goodness of fresh tender coconut, tender coconut water, their favorite ice cream too in it. I know we can always make them have it as such, but Summer holiday is here, they deserve it! I am sure they will burn the calories in no time!
🍨 Coconut shake
Tender coconut helps you in cooling down your body from inside, remedy for mouth ulcer and other stomach upset problems. In milkshake form even kids who doesn’t have it as such can be made to consume without even knowing by sneaking it. Like some texture? the flesh by itself in bits and pieces adds a lovely bite to the drink.
Don’t want to add on calories? Just skip vanilla ice cream, use only milk, tender coconut pulp, tender coconut water and ice cubes. You might want to blend some sweetener – use natural sweeteners like honey or agave, you are good to go.
Tender coconut in Singapore
I usually buy tender coconut at near by wet market, they break open freshly and cling wrap it. We bring home, collect fresh tender coconut water, scoop the pulp and enjoy. It is also available in Little India, Mustafa, Sri Murugan, Kopitiams, Food courts.

Equipments (Amazon Affiliate links)
- ½ cup Tender coconut water
- ½ cup Tender coconut
- 4 Scoops Vanilla ice cream
- ½ cup milk
- 6 Ice cubes
Gather all the ingredients needed. Place tender coconut pulp, ice cubes, tender coconut water, milk, ice cream in a blender.
Blend smoothly. I love the pulp as bits in my drink. You can also add some later if you like the texture too.
Pour into a chilled serving jug and top it with another scoop of ice cream.
- Choose fresh tender coconut for best results.
- Tender coconut once opened should be consumed soon. So, I don’t recommend storing the milkshake.
