A Chicago man accused of forcing multiple women into prostitution and physically abusing them at a hotel in Lombard and elsewhere will remain in jail until his trial, a DuPage County judge ruled Friday.
Illinois State Police said in a news release that officers arrested Heggie Carr, 46, of Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, on Wednesday. Arresting officers found four women, ages 18 to 32, at the Lombard hotel where they arrested Carr, according to the release
Carr faces two felony charges of involuntary servitude and two felony charges of human trafficking, court records show. According to court documents, at least one of the women Carr was allegedly trafficking died of a drug overdose.
A motion to deny Carr pretrial release states that Carr required his victims to have an escort and not to speak to anyone while out and restricted their contact with friends and families. The motion also states that Carr allegedly provided drugs, food and weight gain pills to the women, but “withheld drugs if a woman was not being productive enough,” restricted their sleep and was physically abusive.
Carr offered an 18-year-old woman a job, which the woman believed would entail office work, in exchange for paying for a hotel room for her family. The motion states that Carr allegedly used the 18-year-old to arrange prostitution for five other women at the hotel and at residences in Illinois and Iowa.
Carr later allegedly forced the woman into prostitution with requirements that she earn $3,000 a day on weekdays and $5,000 a day on weekends. The woman told police Carr had choked her until she lost consciousness at least twice.

A second alleged victim died of a drug overdose in June 2023, the motion states. Arlington Heights police allegedly observed Carr pulling that woman back into a hotel room six months earlier. The Lombard Police Department fielded a phone call from a hotel that discussed Carr and the woman in a physical altercation in March 2023.
Investigating law enforcement found mail belonging to a Gregory Moore, who was previously convicted of murder and required to register as a violent offender against youth until 2029. Law enforcement confirmed that Gregory Moore was an alias used by Carr, prosecutors said.
A third alleged victim told police that Carr regularly beat her, including while she was in the shower, threatened to kill her and her family, and threatened other women. She also corroborated the first woman’s account that alleged Carr “had people who would kill for him.”
Law enforcement said officers found more than 1,000 profiles advertising women dating back to August 2021. Carr was released from the Illinois Department of Corrections in July 2021.
Information from IDOC shows that Carr was sentenced to 11 years, six months in state prison for aggravated domestic battery in 2011. He served other, shorter stints in prison for theft, possession or sale of a stolen vehicle, possession of an unauthorized title and armed robbery, records show.
The motion to deny Carr pretrial release also states that he has two records of sexually abusing minors, including his then-11-year-old daughter.
Carr is set to appear in court Dec. 11, according to court records.
