SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Top-seed Chester won its second straight Class ‘B’ volleyball championship with a 3-2 win over Warner. Both years the title match went five sets with the Flyers edging the Monarchs. It’s the program’s third title overall.
Warner won the opening set and took an early lead in set two before Chester rallied to claim the set 25-23 and even the match. The Monarchs took the third by two points, and then the Flyers forced a fifth set with a 10-point win in set four. Chester won the fifth 15-10.
Jacy Wolf notched a match-high 20 kills to go along with 25 assists and 15 digs for the Flyers. Lily Van Hal followed with 19 kills, 25 assists and a team-high 25 digs.
Kyleigh Schopp paced the Monarchs with 11 kills. MaKenna Leidholt was also in double figures with 10 kills.
Chester wrapped up the year 32-2, and Warner closed the season 33-5.
