Three golds for Carlos Yulo in the Asian Gymnastics Championships. —QATAR GYMNASTICS

MANILA, Philippines — Caloy Yulo finished his 9th Senior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships stint in historic fashion with three gold medals and a silver in Doha, Qatar.

The 22-year-old gymnast earned two gold medals in vault and parallel bars to wrap up the continental tilt on Saturday at Aspire Dome.

Yulo ruled the men’s vault competition garnering a score of 14.800 to edge silver medalist Shiga Tachibana of Japan and third place Hansol Kim of Korea.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympian also won gold in the parallel bars event, tallying 15.167 points to beat  Japan’s Tsuyoshi Hasegawa and China’s Yin Dehang, who both scored 14.700.

Yulo claimed his first gold after stamping his class in the men’s floor exercise on Friday.

He also won a silver in the men’s all-around event on Thursday.

After a historic Asian championship, Yulo is set to compete in the Artistic World Championships in Liverpool from October 29 to November 6.

Last month, brought home five gold medals from the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.
