MANILA, Philippines—After coming so close to clinching the Korean Basketball League championship, Carl Tamayo and Changwon LG Sakers now face a winner-take-all situation against the Seoul SK Knights.
After falling behind 0-3 in the best-of-seven Finals series, Seoul forced a do-or-die Game 7 with a gritty 54-51 win in Game 6 on Thursday at Changwon Stadium.

Jameel Warney powered the S Knights’ comeback with a huge double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, along with five assists, three blocks, and a steal.
Filipino import Juan Gomez de Liaño, however, was not fielded in Seoul’s all-important game.
Tamayo, on the other hand, delivered a solid outing for Changwon with 13 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and an assist, but it wasn’t enough to clinch the title.
LG Sakers big man Assem Marei struggled in what could’ve been the championship clincher, managing just five points on 2-for-12 shooting from the field.

Tamayo had been on the verge of making history as the first Filipino swingman to win titles in both the Japanese B.League and the KBL when Changwon seized a commanding 3-0 lead last week.
Now, though, only time will tell if that will be the case as Changwon and Seoul gear up before Game 7 for all the marbles on Saturday at Jamsil Students’ Gymnasium.
