CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The season — at least the regular season — is over for linebacker Jesse Luketa.
The outside linebacker hurt his thigh in the first quarter last week against the Patriots, and Friday, the Cardinals placed him on Injured Reserve.
To replace him, the Cardinals promoted linebacker Milo Eifler from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Eifler was signed to the practice squad Oct. 30, and has appeared in 15 career games with Washington and Atlanta.
Luketa has been part of the outside linebacking rotation and has three sacks on the season. The Cardinals are missing two linebackers for Sunday; Mack Wilson Sr. will miss the game with a concussion and has been getting some snaps on the edge as well as his normal inside linebacker spot.
The Cardinals will also be without starting left tackle Paris Johnson Jr., who injured his knee last week, and running back Trey Benson, who sprained his ankle.
