With Desmond Ridder leaving the Cardinals’ practice squad for a role with the Las Vegas Raiders, GM Monti Ossenfort quickly filled Ridder’s spot with another signal-caller.

The Cardinals signed quarterback Anthony Brown to the practice squad as the team’s third QB on Wednesday. Brown, an Oregon product, spent 2022 as an undrafted rookie on the Ravens’ practice squad. He spent time in 2023 preseason with the Raiders, and the 2024 preseason with the Bills.

He appeared in two games for the Ravens, throwing 49 passes and completing 22, for 302 yards with two interceptions. Clayton Tune remains Kyler Murray’s backup.

The Cardinals also activated rookie tackle Christian Jones to the 53-man roster from Injured Reserve. Wednesday was the deadline for Jones to be activated from IR.

The Cardinals did not practice on Wednesday. They will have an afternoon walkthrough as they prepare for their road trip to Miami, after playing Monday night.
