With the Cardinals heading to Indianapolis, the team added a pair of offensive pieces on Tuesday.
The Cardinals signed running back Hassan Hall and wide receiver Daylen Baldwin. The Cardinals also waived injured wide receiver Jeff Smith. Smith was inactive for the preseason opener against the Saints.
This will be Hall’s second stint with the Cardinals. He was on the Cardinals practice squad for a brief period last season before the team parted ways with the running back. Emari Demercado missed Saturday’s game with an undisclosed injury and Hall will serve as another body heading into the Colts game.
The 23-year-old running back agreed to terms with the San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL on Aug. 2, but will instead join James Conner, Trey Benson, and Co. in the running back room.
Like Hall, Baldwin, a second-year wide receiver, has also bounced around on multiple teams as he tries to find a home in the league. The Michigan product most recently was on the Falcons training camp roster before the team released him two weeks ago. In his final season in Ann Arbor, Baldwin hauled in 17 receptions for 256 yards and two touchdowns.
With the anticipated physicality that the joint practices are expected to provide, Hall and Baldwin become additional pieces that’ll fight to earn playing time.
