SPEEDWAY, Ind. – Police are investigating after a car crashed into a pole and caught fire early Tuesday morning in Speedway.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 4:10 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash near West 16th Street and Polco Street near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

A vehicle had crashed at the location and caught fire. Video from the scene showed fire crews responding to the area.

The car, which was littered with scorch marks, sustained significant damage. The vehicle hit a utility pole; crews were delayed in extinguishing the flames because power lines were involved.

Utility crews also responded to the scene. A tow truck took the damaged vehicle away.

The Speedway Fire Department said no injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation.
