A McDonald’s in Central California is temporarily closed after videos surfaced that allegedly showed mice and roaches inside the restaurant.

The Fresno Bee reported the McDonald’s on Academy Avenue in Sanger was shuttered Friday, and an investigation by the Fresno County Public Health Department is ongoing.

The videos were originally posted to Sanger Live, a Facebook group for locals in the community. They show employees walking through the food preparation area, filming glue traps stuck with mice, at least one live rodent scurrying across the floor and multiple roaches on the walls. In addition, stacks of cups are seen touching the floor. The videos were alleged to be taken inside the Academy Ave. franchise of the fast food chain.

“We can confirm that claims were filed against the restaurant, and we are aware of the videos circulating that claim to show conditions of the place,” a Fresno County Public Health spokesperson told the Bee. “That is a facility that we do monitor from a health and safety standpoint. We are looking into the situation and cannot comment any further.”

When a reporter from the Bee went to check out the location on Friday, the drive-thru was blocked off with traffic cones and a piece of paper with the words “Closed Due to Maintenence” printed on it was on the locked front door. There was no reopening date on the sign.
