SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The burn ban in Minnehaha County has been lifted after recent rain and snow.
The county placed the ban on March 25.
The grassfire index for April 2 in southeast South Dakota is “low.” The index on the Nation Weather Service page attributes this to favorable weather conditions and high mositure content in the grasses.
“Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored,” the index said.
Sioux Falls is expected to get about 1/2 an inch of rain on Wednesday.
