BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — The Brookings football team improved to 4-0 on the season, following a shutout win over Pierre 13-0.

It was clear from the early going on Friday night, that scoring was going to be difficult.
In fact, neither team scored an offensive touchdown in the 48 minute game.
The two teams exchanged the ball through the first half, until Brookings’ Jay Harris intercepted the ball and returned it for a touchdown. The point after attempt was no good.
Brookings took that 6-0 lead into halftime.
Pierre found more success moving the ball in the second half.
They drove into Brookings territory a couple times, including once in the third quarter where drove deep into the Bobcats portion of the field.
But like they had many times that night, the Brookings’ defense answered the call with an interception.
The Governors never could mount much offensively and a late game pick six for Brookings sealed a 13-0 win for Brookings.
The Bobcats are now 4-0 and they’ll hit the road to play 11AAA for Roosevelt next week.
The Governors have now lost two straight games, falling to 2-2. They’ll host Yankton next Friday.
