INDIANAPOLIS — Citizens Energy Group lifted their boil water order for customers on Indianapolis’s east side Saturday morning.
The order, first issued on Thursday, was caused by a water main break at 22nd Street and Dr. Andrew J. Brown Ave.
After a required testing from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Citizens said the water is now safe to drink. Boiling it before consumption is no longer necessary.
Some customers may still experience lower water pressures, however. Citizens said this may continue until the water main is fully repaired.
22nd Street is expected to remain closed “until late next week,” Citizens added. They urged drivers to continue following all posted signage and take detours as required.
Citizens Energy Group said they are committed to “repair[ing] the roadway to City-approved construction standards.”
