The body of an apparent drowning victim has been recovered from Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Personnel with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and South Metro Fire Rescue found and recovered a body from the water, CPW said on Saturday.

A 29-year-old man went missing at the reservoir on May 7 and has been presumed dead. He was on a tube being pulled behind a boat when he became separated from the tube and went missing.

He was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident. Authorities searched for him immediately after the mishap was reported.

The body has been turned over to the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office, who will determine an official cause of death and positive identification.
