Police in Blue Ash are investigating a woman’s death, while at the same time applauding the actions of one of their police officers who came to the rescue of that woman’s child body cam video.Officer Pete Bronner found an 8-year-old boy wandering alone on Williamson Road.“What’s going on? Hey can you talk to me? Run me a squad! This child’s got a severe cut to his leg and just passed out,” Officer Bronner dispatched and heard on body cam video.The child had a severe leg injury and Bronner used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.“This is going to hurt, ok? This is going to help, ok? It’s going to hurt a little bit though,” Officer Bronner said to the boy. The boy told Bronner he was pushed out a window and his mother was dead.The child led police to the Sonesta ES Suites where they found a trail of blood leading to a room. “Building 19 back here by Williamson. There are bloody footprints in the parking lot. Looks like it’s smaller footprints like maybe the child’s,” an officer says on body cam video.Officers were able to get a key from the front desk and discovered the body of a woman in the bathroom, the victim of a gunshot wound.Medical crews said Bronner’s actions saved the child’s life. Bronner stayed with the boy throughout his medical care at the hospital.The police department has nominated him for a meritorious service commendation.Police are still trying to figure out what happened to her and how the little boy was injured.
