RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) — This week is National Direct Support Professional Week.
Black Hills Works has several staff members who assist individuals with everyday life needs to help them take on the day.
This work includes helping individuals get ready in the morning, balancing checkbooks and more everyday tasks.
“It’s really important to take a moment to thank our direct support professionals because the work is super impactful that they do and it’s a position that can go unrecognized at times. People don’t understand the people that work behind the scenes to create all the great stuff so it’s a really nice opportunity to take a week to really recognize our direct support professionals and let them know how valued they are.” HR Generalist Alexi Kieffer said.
Black Hills Works will be hosting several events and activities throughout this week of celebration.
