With so many ever-changing robust menus across Philly, you’re likely often too full to check out the dessert menu. But let us tempt you to take a glance at delicious cakes, whipped creams, fluffy pastries, and rich chocolates that comprise the best restaurant desserts in the city. And yes, there’s even an ice on the list — what’s more Philadelphia than that?

What’s changed in this update: We’ve added Doom, Meetinghouse, and LMNO; swapped the now-closed Honeysuckle Provisions for its replacement, Honeysuckle. For now, we’ve also removed Gran Caffe L’Aquila, Steak48, and Loch Bar.

Ernest Owens is a seasoned journalist, radio personality, and author who most recently worked as a political writer-at-large and columnist for Philadelphia Magazine. He hosts the weekly podcast Ernestly Speaking! and works as an adjunct professor at Community College of Philadelphia. He is also president of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists. In February 2023, he published the book The Case for Cancel Culture with St. Martin’s Press. His freelance work has appeared in such places as the New York Times, CNN, NBC News, USA Today, Washington Post, and Rolling Stone, among others.
