BART officials said early Monday that service on the Richmond line to San Francisco will resume later this morning.

The transit agency first announced at 4:54 a.m. that red line service between Richmond and Millbrae wasn’t running at due to a trackside problem. This news came on the day when hundreds of thousands of people are expect to pour into San Francisco for the Warriors parade

“Due to a trackside power problem there is no direct service to San Francisco from the Richmond line,” BART said on Twitter. “San Francisco passengers board a Berryessa train and transfer at MacArthur to an SFO Airport train.”

Twenty minutes later, BART posted: “Later in the morning we will dispatch Red line trains that will provide direct service from the Richmond line to San Francisco. Trains will arrive every 15 minutes. Some trains will be Red line (SF/Millbrae) and some trains will be Orange line (Berryessa).”

It’s not clear when direct service between Richmond and San Francisco will resume; the Warriors parade is scheduled to begin at 11:20 a.m.

This is the second time in the last three days a power problem has shut down service on the red line.
